Dear Families,

Alas, the last month of the school year is here and we wind down amid May flowers and a bustling array of fun events. We so enjoyed our school play, Cinderella, in April and would like to thank all of the students, parents and staff who made that such a delightful show! We would also like to thank our wonderful EAPO for so thoroughly spoiling us on Parent Appreciation week! Besides the flowers, May brings even more excitement our way…

The week of May 13th-17th both campuses will be showcasing arts performances. Thursday, May 16th, Lower Elementary will have their annual Living Wax Museum from 2:30pm to 3:00pm at the Primary School. Later that day, from 5:30pm-8:00pm, the Secondary School will have their Spring Showcase with class projects displayed, musical performances, and an art gallery. Capping the evening’s celebration will be our annual Film Festival! Then, the next week, we will have Elizabeth Academy’s High School Graduation! Commencement exercises will on Wednesday, May 22nd, at the Primary campus, from 10:00 am-noon. The next day, May 23rd, will be our Hello Summer Fair! Come join the fun at this end-of-year carnival! The last day of school will be on Friday, May 24th and our kindergarteners and Upper Elementary 6th graders will then have their turn wearing a graduate’s cap as they move up to elementary in a beautiful Bridging Ceremony.

And then it ends. No more school. Time for the pool. Ahh, enjoy your summer! But oh how we will love and miss you, looking forward to seeing you again next fall!

Merrily in May,

Elizabeth Academy Administration

Celebrating Our Founders 2024

In May, we celebrate our Founders by also celebrating May day and experiencing the May Pole. Students learned about the tradition of the May Pole and the importance of the May Day celebration to one of our founders, Beverley Sorenson. Her handwritten account of being the May Day Queen is etched on the glass near the reception desk at the Primary School. Enjoy a video of last year’s celebration that was put together by Chassie Bunker- one of our amazing dance teachers at the Primary School.

Celebrating the Class of 2024

Join us in celebrating our five graduating seniors for 2024. We know that they have a bright future in front of them.

EAPO Leadership

Morgan Pilcher has served on the EAPO leadership team for six years. She started as Secretary for one year, Co-Leader for one year, and then has been one of two leaders for the past four years. She has loved serving the EA community and getting to know so many staff members and parents. While it has been an honor to serve in such a capacity for these years, and has enjoyed building our EAPO throughout this time, she is ready to pass the torch onto another fantastic group of parents. Morgan currently has two children at EA, Cyrus in Bell Canyon and Jericho in Red Butte, and a toddler, Apollo, at home. She is looking forward to spending some much needed bonding time with her toddler over the next year before he hopefully begins his schooling at EA as well.

Emily Miska has served on the EAPO Leadership team for 2.5 years, beginning with her role as Room Parent Coordinator and finishing with a Co-Leader position for two years. She has enjoyed connecting with the EA community through communication and events, and has worked hard to further develop EAPO's mission of supporting, recognizing, and celebrating EA's incredible teachers and staff. Emily and her two children, Sydney and Walker, will be moving on from EA after the 2023-2024 school year, but will greatly miss all of our wonderful families and staff. She appreciates the opportunity to have served in this role!

If you are interested in volunteering to serve on the EAPO Leadership team or have interest in volunteering in another capacity, please email EAPO@elizabethacademy.com.
